Painting process is one of the treatments that are often applied on the surface of aluminum sheets. The paint is used to improve its aesthetic impact but, also and above all, to increase its intrinsic properties such as resistance to corrosion, external contaminants and aggressive environments. There are different types of lacquers for aluminum and the choice depends on the final applications.
Painting process for aluminium roofs
Painting process is often used for aluminum roofs because they are in contact with the outside and therefore more exposed to bad weather. Usually reflective paints are preferred because they are able to guarantee a high index of reflectivity of the sun’s rays. Alternatively, paints on aluminum surfaces are applied in the air conditioning and ventilation sectors for the creation of fins to limit the formation of condensation.
Different types of lacquering process
Italcoat can supply coated aluminium with nanotech-based or hydrophilic lacquers to manufacturers of fins for heat exchangers. The first one makes surface oleophobic and hydrophobic. The hydrophilic lacquer, on the contrary, preserves the initial properties even after ageing.
