The colours of a pre-painted aluminium sheet may vary depending on the coating used. However, before the application, it’s necessary to carry out a series of actions on the surface to make it suitable. The main processes are degreasing and pre-treatment. Both guarantee perfect adhesion of paints, an absolute degree of cleanliness of the surfaces and the absence of odors. These two steps are performed on both sides of the aluminium sheet, before applying a thin layer of coating.
As anticipated, the colour of a surface changes depending on the painting. Let’s analyze in detail the colours in which Italcoat products are available:
- Blue: Bluefin hydrophilic lacquer is available with both acrylic and epoxy coatings. The paint has a high resistance to corrosion and UV rays and maintains its properties unaltered even with the passage of time. Upon request, an antimicrobial additive can also be provided.
- White: the Hygrosieve® hygroscopic paint has the function of improving performance in terms of vapor adsorption and desorption with an energy saving of 15%. Furthermore, the coating is free of silica gel and doesn’t cause bad odors. Upon request, a biocidal additive can also be provided.
- Golden: the epoxy-based lacquer guarantees high performance even in particularly aggressive environments. It has strong corrosion resistance and excellent mechanical properties during the drawing process.
Characteristics of colours applied on pre-painted sheet
Italcoat uses BPA N.I.A. paints. (“Bisphenol A – Not Intentionally Added”), free of BADGE, BPF, NOGE and PVC-Free. The lacquers can be applied on sheets of different alloys, typical or special, to satisfy any customer request and be applied to distinct market sectors. In addition to having specific technical properties, all paints also have the purpose of improving the aesthetic impact of the product: this makes them suitable for use both for interiors and for exposed installations.
