According to the latest analyses, until 2030, the global pre-painted aluminium sheet market will have a CAGR of 4.8%. Significant investments in the construction sector, due to the spread of commercial offices, retail shops, warehouses and government infrastructure, will be the basis of this very positive increase.
In fact, in the building industry pre-painted sheets are used for the creation of aluminium composite panels (ACP) required above all for the cladding of external and internal walls of any building. In part, the growing demand for ACP has already forced major companies in the industry to undertake strategic initiatives to produce eco-friendly aluminum sheets providing an increasingly sustainable option to a highly competitive market.

Aluminium sheet thickness
The construction industry mainly uses aluminium sheets with a thickness of less than 2.5 mm; we therefore expect a consequent increase in this type of product. Sheets with this thickness are requested by the building industry above all for the high resistance to corrosion, ductility and lightness that distinguish them.
Price of pre-painted aluminium sheets
However, despite the strong increase in demand that will occur in the coming years, the latest reports show the growing demand for pre-painted aluminium sheets will face slight restrictions due to changes in the prices of the raw material. Indeed, the product is exposed to price fluctuations due not only to a sudden increase in demand but also to geopolitical conflicts and a gap between supply and demand. Suffice it to mention that in the second half of 2021, China reduced domestic aluminium production causing prices to rise in both domestic and export markets. Nonetheless, the main players in the sector such as Italcoat are already working to develop strategies aimed at finding the right compromise between production and sales.
